The Gongshang Rugby Team was named The Most Eye-catching School during the Standard Chartered Sevens Singapore event held in April 2005 and was awarded a one-thousand-dollar cheque by Standard Chartered Bank.

Two of our senior boys were selected after a series of trials to represent Singapore in the U13 Combined Schools Rugby Team for a Games Tour to Western Australia in December 2005. They are Md Hairi Bin Alias and Qamarul Arifin Bin Hanafi. The latter was also chosen to be the captain of the Combined Schools Team.

Seven of our players were also offered a confirmed placing in elite rugby secondary schools in the Direct School Admission exercise.
